It has been a really busy year and much has been happening. Our National League has gone from strength to strength and will be growing in team numbers next year and not just in the men’s deivision.Hopefully the next round on the Gold Coast will shed some light on who is likely to be the men’s champions. The women’s title seems to be heading to Ballarat for a second year.On the international scene our under 21 men’s squad will be heading off overseas in November and the squad looks really competitive. We’ll get a good look at them on the Gold Coast when they play an exhibition game on Friday 14th September to open up round 4 of the National League. We will also be hosting an international tournament next year, either January or April, these dates will be confirmed in the very near future.

CLUBS:

It is good to report that Patrick is back, fit and well, and has the Gold Coast making fantastic progress. With clubs now up and running at Bond University, Southport, Benowa, Tallebudgeera, and Runaway Bay back in action come this August, things are nearly ready for interclub cup competitions.The same thing is happening in Victoria. Ballarat, Wellington, Newborough, Bendigo and Sunbury are all growing in strength and Melton is set to open up in the near future.The main push at present is through the clinics program and it is proving very successful. There is a very special program that we will be implementing in 3 months time that will see fairly rapid growth. More on that later.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

We have been complimented on our Code of Conduct. It is great to know that people visit our website. A few players have commented that our sanctions and discipline is too tough. No, it’s not. Our referees and official are not there to be abused or insulted, pushed or shoved around by homegrown bullies. We don’t need the foul mouthed player, coach or parent and if you think about it, if you can’t express yourself without foul language then you need an education.

No sport should have to put up with the ‘angry parent’ (or coach) syndrome. We are very proud of our stance and believe children do copy adult example, so make them good examples.

In front of 400 people, Catalonia won U.S.A., 5-1 , in the second game played in Barcelona.

Yesterday in front of 1100 people and the national radio doing the game in live in Girona, the national team of Catalonia won 7-1 to U.S.A.

This was the first game that Catalonia and U.S.A. are going to play, for the catalonian team this training games, are a part of the preparation for the qualification for the Eurofutsal 2008 (Belgium), that are going to play next mounth in Poland.

Tomorrow at 20.00 they will play another game in Barcelona.
