"It is necessary to work hard to stay where we are"
The president of the World-Futsal Association (AMF), the Pan-American Futsal Confederation (Panafutsal) and the Paraguayan Futsal Federation, Rolando Alarcón Rios, took account of the season that concluded and the projects for the incoming year. He willingly communicated with our web.
In relation to 2007, he commented: "Without a doubt it is necessary to emphasize that the world championship, which was held in Mendoza, Argentina, was the most important achievement for our country. It resulted in the championship, which is based on the organization of the Paraguayan Federation. It is necessary to mention in addition the existence of technical professionals of our federation: an experienced team of technicians, medical staff and people who know their job. Logically we had all the support of the people of the federation, which are very skilful in the handling this type of competition".
He added: "the players prepared themselves very well, with a unique objective, to obtain the maximum title. The success must have a base and the base is the physical training of the athletes, the technical staff and the leaders ".
About the AMF projects for 2008, he explained: "We want to organize in Barcelona the world championship for women. The federation organized this competition, which finished recently and we are going to organize another women competition for the second fortnight of February. We are going to select the best players for our Paraguayan Futsal team. That branch is still very new, without players of reputation, we are going to intensify the work in this matter ".
He continued: "We are continue to work anywhere in the world, it is not an easy task. This championship of Mendoza was well taken care of. The AMF has to be firm, we are already established and it is necessary to work hard to stay where we are and to continue to grow".
With respect to an award of recognition, Alarcón Rios finished saying: "I believe that what made people of the Paraguayan Circle of Sport Journalists and the Paraguayan Events organization was the right recognition for a sport that did so much for the country. Paraguay is known through Futsal. We value that fact and we think that it has been the right prize ".

“Hay que trabajar duro para mantenerse donde llegamos”
El presidente de la Asociación Mundial de Futsal (AMF), de la Confederación Panamericana de Fútbol de Salón (Panafutsal) y de la Federación Paraguaya de Fútbol de Salón, Rolando Alarcón Ríos, realizó un balance de la temporada que fenece y de los proyectos para el año entrante. Se prestó gentilmente para los requerimientos de nuestro diario.
Con relación a lo que dejó el 2007, comentó: “Sin lugar a dudas hay que destacar el campeonato del mundo, que se obtuvo en Mendoza, Argentina, ese es el logro más importante para nuestro país. Lo más resaltante es el campeonato, que se basamentó en la organización de la Federación Paraguaya. Hay que tener en cuenta además el plantel de profesionales técnicos que tiene nuestra federación, un equipo experimentado de técnicos, cuerpo médico y gente que conoce su oficio. Lógicamente tiene todo el apoyo de la gente de la federación, son muy duchos en el manejo de este tipo de competencias”.Agregó: “Los jugadores se prepararon muy bien, con un objetivo único, el de llegar al título máximo. El éxito tiene que tener una base y la base del nuestro es la preparación física de los atletas, el cuerpo técnico y el de dirigentes”.
Acerca de los proyectos de la AMF para el 2008, expresó: “Nosotros estamos queriendo organizar en Barcelona el campeonato mundial de mujeres. La federación hizo este torneo que culminó recientemente y para la segunda quincena de febrero vamos a organizar otro torneo femenino. Vamos a apuntar lo mejor posible para nuestra selección de fútbol de salón paraguayo, en la rama femenina. Es muy reciente aún esa rama, sin jugadoras de renombre, cosas que las vamos a ir haciendo, intensificando el trabajo al respecto”.
Prosiguió: “Seguimos trabajando en todo el mundo, no es una tarea fácil la nuestra. Este campeonato de Mendoza fue bastante bien llevado. La AMF sigue firme, ya estamos donde estamos y hay que trabajar duro para mantenerse donde llegamos y seguir creciendo”.
Con respecto a un galardón de reconocimiento a nivel país, Alarcón Ríos finalizó diciendo: “Creo que lo que hizo la gente del Círculo Paraguayo de Periodistas Deportivos y la organización Paraguay Eventos fue un reconocimiento justo para un deporte que hizo mucho para el país mismo. Mediante el fútbol de salón se le conoce al Paraguay. Valoramos ese hecho y creemos que ha sido un justo premio”.
